This evening, at 21:00 CET, PSG will face next door neighbours Paris FC for the 34th and final Ligue 1 game of the 25/26 season.
Although the league title has already been secured for a fifth consecutive season, there is an extra incentive to win today. Indeed, as it was Paris FC that knocked PSG out of the Coupe de France, thus denying the team a chance at winning back to back trebles.
So, no doubt the team will want to right that wrong and get another three points to head into the UEFA Champions League final with plenty of momentum. However, they will have to do so without a number of key players.
Indeed, as Willian Pacho, Nuno Mendes, Quentin Ndjantou, Achraf Hakimi and Lucas Chevalier are all out of the squad for the game. However, the good news is that Warren Zaire-Emery and Kang-in Lee are in the squad. Both players were called up to their respective nations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup earlier this week. It is a first tournament call up for Zaire-Emery.
Although the 20 year old has been selected as a midfielder for France, and it is his nominal position, he may have another shift at right-back this evening, with Hakimi injured. That said, Luis Enrique could instead opt to play Senny Mayulu in that role instead.
These exclusions have lead to some online debate as to whether or not they are actually injured, or if Enrique is just taking no risks ahead of the Champions League final. Perhaps the truth is somewhere in the middle; they have knocks, nothing serious, and the gaffer wants to just allow them to fully heal before the final.
Also, one other thing to consider is that, if Enrique did just want to make sure these players didn't get injured, surely he would leave Ousmane Dembele out, considering his importance to the team, and also his injury record, both historically and earlier on in this campaign.
Well, we will have to wait and see. It will be interesting to see the starting XI tonight, and who plays in the absence of the aforementioned players. The domestic performances of Lucas Beraldo have been very good of late, so perhaps we see him start again. We may also see Fabian Ruiz build up his match fitness and sharpeness after so long out on the side lines. Let's wait and see.
