The Chicago Cubs have the best record in Major League Baseball, and it has taken a complete team effort to achieve it. With their second 10-game winning streak achieved in a 23-game span, this team is firing on all cylinders.

To a large extent, their younger players have had a significant impact on this season's success. As described by Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report, the Cubs have the fifth-strongest "core four" that are under the age of 25. Here is the quad, which, as of right now, is a trio.

Pete Crow-Armstrong, Moisés Ballesteros, Matt Shaw, and Cade Horton are the promising young lads. They are not a true core of four players because Horton has been shut down for the rest of this season with a UCL injury.

Crow-Armstrong is the highlight of this three-man group, as he is the future of this franchise. Since his emergence at the MLB level, an intense amount of expectations have been placed upon him, and he has crushed them all. Ballesteros remains true to those sentiments as well.

Matt Shaw is an interesting case, as his future depends on the other members of his team. The Cubs are trying to set themselves up for annual trips to the postseason, and the National League Central is there for the taking, but it will take a gauntlet to get past. Shaw is hitting .284 so far this season, which is leagues better than the rookie campaign that landed him in the ninth-place in voting. Additionally, his OPS and strikeouts are way higher and way lower than they were last season, respectively.

This Cubs team is deep with talent, and there is no telling just how high they can reach. The core already established within this group is a great asset and will only grow as time goes on.
