Suns’ Dillon Brooks claims he’s only player with ‘real straps’ for Victor Wembanyama appeared first on ClutchPoints. Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Recently, the Phoenix Suns saw their season come to an end with a sweep at the hands of the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of the playoffs. Still, it was an overall successful year for Phoenix, a team that was expected by most to miss the postseason altogether after trading Kevin Durant the previous offseason.
One of the key parts of the return package in that deal was Dillon Brooks, who had his best season as a pro in Phoenix this past year, and recently, “The Villain” made a bold claim when it comes to San Antonio Spurs star center Victor Wembanyama.
“I’m the real straps for Wemby… I’m telling you, you search up his numbers against me, that s*** is real low. But I’ve got to see him now, I haven’t seen him this year,” said Brooks on a stream with Ray, per SlatDontMiss on X, formerly Twitter.
Brooks has never been shy about speaking his mind and projecting confidence as a player, which has earned him the nickname “Dillon the Villain” over the years. The forward recently added to his collection of viral memes when he was seen hate-watching LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers live in Game 4 of their own playoff sweep at the hands of the Thunder.
At this point, it’s unclear if the Suns view Brooks as a part of the long-term future of their rebuild, or if they might consider seeing what they can get back for him in a trade this offseason after his breakout 2025-26 campaign.
However, it seems that wherever he goes, Brooks will bring his relentless confidence with him.
