Reports indicate the San Francisco Giants may have already given up on the core president of baseball operations, Buster Posey, and the front office put together.

A disappointing start to Rafael Devers' Giants career is a major reason why. But San Francisco may have a difficult time finding any club that is willing to take on the remainder of his $313.5 million contract.

However, FanSided's Chris Landers named an NL East team that could at least consider making a trade for Devers. They may be desperate to save their season.

"Hear me out here, though. Philly needs to try something to salvage this current core and find some more offense. They also have two infielders (and some significant payroll) coming off the books at the end of the year in Alec Bohm and Bryson Stott." Landers wrote about a potential Devers trade to the Philadelphia Phillies.

There's not an obvious fit for Devers on Philadelphia's roster. Bryce Harper is at first base, and Kyle Schwarber is the DH. Manager Don Mattingly could play him at third, but Devers' defense leaves much to be desired.

"Would Dave Dombrowski, who didn't sign Devers to the Red Sox but did love him so much in Boston that he refused to include him in Chris Sale trade talks back in the day, be willing to roll the dice in an effort to save his own skin? If this team gets to the All-Star break mired around .500, never say never," Landers added.

This deal seems extremely unlikely for the Phillies. Dombrowski may have a connection to Devers, but he may not be the same caliber of player he was several years ago.
