PSG’s Désiré Doué wins Ligue 1 Young Player of the Season

Désiré Doué (20) has been named Young Player of the Season in Ligue 1, having also won the title last season.

Doué has played 22 games in Ligue 1 this season, scoring seven goals and registering three assists for a Paris Saint-Germain side that can secure a fifth successive Ligue 1 title, should they draw against their nearest title challengers, RC Lens, on Wednesday.

PSG continue domination of Young Player category

Doué beat competition from fellow PSG players in order to win the trophy for the second successive year, becoming just the third player to do so, after Eden Hazard and Kylian Mbappé. Warren Zaire-Emery and Joao Neves were also nominated, as were RC Strasbourg Alsace’s Valentin Barco and Lille OSC’s Ayyoub Bouaddi.

It means that PSG continue their domination in the Young Player category of the UNFP Awards. Zaire-Emery took home the trophy in 2024, whilst Nuno Mendes won it back in 2023. William Saliba, who won it back in 2022 while on loan at Olympique de Marseille, is the last non-PSG player to have won the award.
