This time, it is official: PSG has a date and time for the presentation of the 2025-26 French champion trophy. It will be before the kickoff of the derby on Sunday against Paris FC.
PSG has been the official French champion since its victory at Lens on Wednesday. But the question was now: when would Luis Enrique and his players receive the trophy that symbolizes this title?
The possibility of a ceremony being organized at the Parc des Princes was quickly forgotten, as was a trophy presentation at Paris City Hall, even though relations between Nasser Al-Khelaifi and the new mayor of the capital are excellent.
Finally, on Saturday, it was announced that the presentation will take place an hour before the kickoff of the derby against Paris FC, on Sunday at 9 p.m., at the Stade Jean-Bouin. For the moment, no precise details have been given on the organization of this short ceremony, notably the personality who will be present on this occasion.
For its part, PSG, which obtained 1,000 tickets for its supporters at Jean-Bouin, asked them to arrive one hour early in the away section installed in the stadium next to the Parc des Princes to attend this ceremony.
"Apparently, there will be no podium set up for Marquinhos' teammates (…) The ceremony and celebrations will therefore be relatively quick since the players' warm-up begins at 8:30 p.m., which leaves about thirty minutes to present the trophy," Le Parisien specifies.
The Parisian outlet confirms that Paris FC executives refused to have the French champion trophy presented after the match, since the other capital club also has a small party planned with its supporters at the final whistle of the season's last match.
The hypothesis of another celebration for PSG in the coming days was also quickly dismissed. Luis Enrique wants his players to get some rest, then it will be time to prepare for the Champions League final against Arsenal, exactly two weeks from now in Budapest. If Paris secures its second star, then it will be time to celebrate another historic season.
