PSG Ready to Beat Chelsea With $46M Bid for Defensive Target

PSG has found the clone of Willian Pacho, the best Parisian central defender this season. To bring him in, Luis Campos is ready to strike quickly and hard in the transfer market.

Very promising Club Brugge defender Joel Ordonez was highly sought after last summer. Despite the push from Marseille, he did not move from the Belgian club to everyone's surprise, as it is rare to see a central defender so ardently pursued stay in the Jupiler League for another season.

But after a complicated start to digesting this failed transfer, the Ecuadorian regained his form and had a very strong season, contributing to Brugge's fine run, which notably eliminated Marseille from the Champions League.

A year later, Ordonez is being rewarded, as he is the subject of strong interest in England and from PSG. Chelsea dreams of bringing him in, journalist Graeme Bailey said this weekend.

But according to information from PSG Inside-Actus, the capital club has suddenly decided to accelerate and has already made its first offer at the end of last week. Campos wants to close this case quickly to validate a recruitment deemed necessary in central defense, where Marquinhos is less imperial, while Illya Zabarnyi has not been convinced.

To close this operation, PSG is ready to go up to $46 million to convince Club Brugge. At that price, it is hard to see the Belgian club being picky. And in the event of an agreement between the two clubs, Paris has already prepared the Ecuadorian's contract for a five-year term with a gross salary of $273,000 per month.

A case well underway, even if the Belgian team will certainly take the time to see if other offers can drive up the price, since the transfer window is not yet open.

PSG has, in any case, chosen its No. 1 target for next summer, and Campos' desire is to close this arrival before the World Cup, especially if the central defender shines there.

In any case, his partnership with his compatriot Pacho already makes Parisian supporters salivate, especially if Ordonez proves to be as strong and valuable as the central defender already at PSG.
