FC Barcelona have enjoyed an excellent 2025/26 season domestically and were crowned the champions of La Liga last weekend when they defeated Real Madrid 2-0 at the Spotify Camp Nou.
It was the second league title in a row that the Blaugrana secured under manager Hansi Flick, underlining the excellent work that the German tactician has done since replacing Xavi Hernandez.
Six players in La Liga Team of the Season
Given their exceptional campaign in La Liga, as many as six players from Barcelona have been named in the La Liga Team of the Season for 2025/26.
The league announced the 19-man Team of the Season, with a starting XI and eight substitutes, and a total of six Barça players made the cut.
Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Eric Garcia, and Joan Garcia are named in the first XI of the Team of the Season, with Pau Cubarsi and Raphinha among the eight substitutes.
Lamine has enjoyed a brilliant season with 16 goals and 12 assists from 28 matches in La Liga. His inclusion does not come as a surprise at all.
Pedri, meanwhile, has continued to prove why he is the best midfielder in the game currently, controlling and dictating matches from the centre of the park. In 27 league games, he has two goals and eight assists.
Eric, on the other hand, has proven to be the jack of all trades for Barcelona this season, excelling at centre-back, right-back, or even in defensive midfield, while he has also taken up responsibility as a leader in Flick’s team.
As for Joan Garcia, it has been a dream debut season for the 25-year-old, who joined the club from Espanyol last summer. The Spaniard is on track to win the Zamora Trophy as well and is set to fly to the World Cup too.
Pau Cubarsi being named among the ‘substitutes’ in the La Liga TOTS does raise some eyebrows, considering that the teenager has easily been one of the best in La Liga in his position.
Raphinha, despite being hampered by injuries, has managed a return of 11 goals and three assists from 21 league games.
