Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon Accepts Bayern Deal, Transfer Pending Final Fee: Breaking

Newcastle United and Bayern Munich are moving closer to a potential deal for Anthony Gordon, but negotiations remain ongoing over the transfer fee.

According to Ben Jacobs, however, Gordon has already accepted the terms offered by Bayern, and the expectation is for both sides to ultimately settle on some middle-ground figure to complete the move.

“Broad terms now in place between Anthony Gordon and Bayern Munich,” Jacobs said.

The main obstacle remains the valuation gap between the two clubs, but that shouldn’t be too much of a hurdle with Gordon set on moving to Bavaria for next season.

“However, there remains a gulf in valuation between Bayern and Newcastle with club-to-club talks ongoing,” Jacobs said. “Newcastle are seeking £75m+.”

Jacobs confirmed there is confidence that a deal will be completed at some point.

“There is optimism the club’s valuation will be met given the volume of initial interest,” Jacobs said.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe’s selection from last week, leaving Gordon out for the second consecutive week, already suggested something was going on under the wraps. Howe himself later confirmed that leaving Gordon out was linked to his future.

“We have got one eye on the future,” Howe said. “It’s our duty to try and look to the future and see what the new team is going to look like next year.”

Gordon is set to play for England at the 2026 World Cup, and with two games left in the Premier League season, he could still play one more time in front of the Tyneside faithful this weekend or in the final game of the season away at Fulham.
