Michigan guard Elliot Cadeau is withdrawing from the 2026 NBA draft and returning to play for coach Dusty May for his senior season, he confirmed on Instagram.
The news was first reported by Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.
Cadeau was an All-Big Ten honorable mention, averaging 10.5 points, 5.9 assists and 2.7 rebounds while shooting 37.6% from 3-point range in 40 games. He ranked sixth in the country in assists (234) and was tied for the seventh-most 10-assist games (6).
The 21-year-old helped the Wolverines to their second title this past season after arriving from North Carolina, earning Final Four Most Outstanding Player honors. He was one of three players on the team to start and play in every game.
Cadeau declared for the draft while maintaining college eligibility to gain feedback from team executives and scouts in preparation for next year. He was among the prospects on the initial invite list for the G League combine last week, but he ultimately withdrew from the competition.
His return to the Wolverines figures to be a significant boost for the group, which could lose both Aday Mara and Morez Johnson Jr. to the draft. Cadeau took a leap forward last season and saw improvement as a shooter, which proved vital at times.
With Cadeau back in the mix, the program is adding J.P. Estrella (Tennessee), Jalen Reed (LSU) and Moustapha Thiam (Cincinnati) via the transfer portal. The team is expected to be among the front-runners to win the title again next season.
