Jerome Rothen Uses Dro Fernandez as Example to Criticize PSG

Jerome Rothen chose to cite Dro Fernandez as an example to criticize PSG, which left Lens in the title race while focusing on the Champions League.

PSG has not splurged in the transfer market recently. Very discreet in each transfer window, the capital club nevertheless pulled off a move last winter by recovering a young player from Barcelona: Dro Fernandez, for whom Paris paid more than his release clause to remain on good terms with the Catalan club.

Upon his arrival, the young Spaniard enjoyed significantly more playing time than at Barcelona. He was able to show his qualities, even though he remains a very discreet player who has not yet had an impact on matches.

Rothen Says Dro Wouldn't Start for Any Other Ligue 1 Club, Blasts PSG's Rotation

For Rothen, he is currently a player who does not have PSG's level. Perhaps that will be the case later, but for the former left foot of Caen, Paris, and Monaco, it is proof that the capital club allowed itself to coast in Ligue 1 if it could play Fernandez so much.

"The title race was tight? But why? Because all these key players are rested, when you make changes and bring in youth, they are necessarily inconsistent. Dro Fernandez, I have nothing against him, but Fernandez has played a lot since he arrived in the league. If you put him in any other Ligue 1 club, I'm not even sure he would be a starter. That affects the collective and individual performances of this PSG team and the attractiveness and spectacle," said Rothen.

Fernandez has been good at passing, but it is true that the midfielder will need to gain some strength and confidence after playing about 10 Ligue 1 matches this season.
