Dodgers Shuffle Lineup Ahead of Braves Opener

The Los Angeles Dodgers set their lineup for the first of a three-game series against the Atlanta Braves on Friday.

The Dodgers are coming off of a series win against the Houston Astros, taking two of the three games on the road. Andy Pages stood out among his teammates in the series finale, hitting three homers and driving in six runs as the Dodgers scored a total of 12 runs.

Who Is pitching for the Dodgers?

Emmet Sheehan gets the ball for the Dodgers, and will look to improve on a difficult outing against the St. Louis Cardinals last week. He pitched 4.2 innings in the outing, allowing four runs on eight hits.

The right-hander has had a rough return to the rotation after spending last postseason in the bullpen, and has a 5.23 ERA through his six starts. He has struck out 36 batters in 31 innings pitched.

Who Is in the Dodgers’ lineup?

Shohei Ohtani will lead off and serve as the designated hitter as usual, and catcher Will Smith moves up to No. 2 in the lineup.

First baseman Freddie Freeman will bat third, and center fielder Andy Pages is batting cleanup.

Teoscar Hernandez bats fifth, with fellow outfielder Kyle Tucker batting sixth.

Shortstop Miguel Rojas bats seventh, and third baseman Max Muncy will bat eighth.

Second baseman Santiago Espinal will round out the lineup.

Who Will the Dodgers Face on the Mound Friday?

Chris Sale will make his eighth start of the season for the Braves in the series opener, and the Dodgers will have their hands full with the southpaw. Sale has pitched 42 innings and has just a 2.14 ERA to go with 49 strikeouts, and he is among the frontrunners for the NL Cy Young award through the first month or so of the season.

The Dodgers will have to keep their bats going if they’re to have any chance against the team with the best record in the National League.
