David Raya wins third straight Premier League Golden Glove

David Raya wins third straight Premier League Golden Glove

Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya has wrapped up the Premier League Golden Glove award for the third season in a row after reaching a total of 18 clean sheets that can no longer be beaten.

The Spaniard reached the milestone during Arsenal’s 1-0 win over West Ham, a result that not only edged the Gunners closer to the Premier League title but also confirmed Raya’s dominance as the division’s top goalkeeper once again as he produced several key saves to help secure yet another shutout.

Across the 2025/26 season, Raya has now kept 18 clean sheets in 36 league appearances, more than any other team in the competition as well as any individual goalkeeper. With just three games remaining, no one can now catch him in the race for the award.

That clean sheet against West Ham also proved decisive in another sense, as Manchester City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, his closest challenger, sits on 14 and has only three matches left to play. That gap means Raya is guaranteed to finish top.

Overall, the Arsenal No.1 has 27 clean sheets in 49 appearances in all competitions this season, underlining just how consistent he has been throughout the campaign.

This latest Golden Glove adds to a growing list of achievements for Raya. He first won the award in 2023/24 with 14 clean sheets in his debut season after joining from Brentford, and followed it up by sharing the prize in 2024/25 with Nottingham Forest’s Matz Sels. Now, he has claimed it outright for a third straight year.

In doing so, he joins a very exclusive group. Only three other goalkeepers have ever managed to win the Premier League Golden Glove in three consecutive seasons: Pepe Reina (2006–2008), Joe Hart (2011–2013), and Ederson (2020–2022).

Raya is now just one Golden Glove away from matching the all-time record of four wins, currently shared by Petr Cech and Joe Hart.

But it wasn’t just the stats that stood out from Sunday’s win.

The clean sheet against West Ham proved crucial in the wider context of Arsenal’s title push, keeping them in pole position in the Premier League run-in. Raya also produced what could end up being one of the defining moments of the season, with a late, point-blank save from Mateus Fernandes. That stop came just before Arsenal went up the other end and scored through Leandro Trossard to take the lead, turning what could have been a difficult afternoon into a pivotal win.
