Bayern Munich News: The approach to get Anthony Gordon; Robert Lewandowski to PSG?; Bayern eyeing Belgian winger; and MORE!

Eberl, Dreesen leading Gordon pursuit (Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg)

As stories continue to flow linking Bayern Munich to Newcastle United, we now know who will be leading the charge for the Bavarians — CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen and sporting director Max Eberl.

The duo will run the negotiations, which figure to be contentious. To be clear, this is Bayern Munich’s A-Team for transfers:

Max Eberl and Jan-Christian Dreesen are leading concrete negotiations with Newcastle United for Anthony Gordon. Bayern have told NUFC that they’re willing to make an initial bid worth €60m. Not enough for the Premier League side, who are looking for up to €90m. Negotiations ongoing.

In addition to that news on the Gordon front, Daily Mail journalist Craig Hope (via @iMiaSanMia) is reporting that Newcastle United has — at least — some doubt on whether or not a compromise can be reached with Bayern Munich:

Newcastle are willing to sell Anthony Gordon, but there is still some doubt over a compromise being reached between them and Bayern on the transfer fee. As one source said, Bayern are very structured in terms of their budget and are pitching at around the £60m (€69m) mark. Newcastle want at least £75m (€87m), possibly rising to £80m (€92m) with add-ons. Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea have all expressed an interest, but the priority for now is Bayern.

Hope also disputed the reports stating that Gordon has reached an agreement with Bayern Munich:

Gordon has not agreed personal terms with Bayern, despite reports, but the framework of how a package would look has been outlined. Conversations are still taking place.

Bayern has watchful eye on on Godts (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)

Bayern Munich is keeping an eye on Ajax winger Mika Godts:

✅ It is TRUE: Bayern are watching Mika Godts. However, he hasn’t broken into the top three offensive options FC Bayern are actively discussing. The Belgian could, of course, still be an option to enlarge the squad.

Flick wants Rashford back (ESPN)

If Hansi Flick has his way, FC Barcelona will bring back Marcus Rashford:

Barcelona boss Hansi Flick has made it clear that he wants to make Marcus Rashford’s loan move from Manchester United permanent in the summer, TEAMtalk reports. Rashford, 28, has a €30 million permanent clause in his loan arrangement, which must be activated by June 15, but it’s unclear if a different structured deal will be negotiated instead. Still, Flick has made an internal plea for the forward’s stay to be extended one way or another.

Palhinha hedging on Spurs move? (SportsMole’s Saikat Mandal)

It has been assumed for quite a while that if Tottenham Hotspur wanted João Palhinha, then the Portuguese midfielder would gladly make the jump on a permanent deal to London.

Not so fast (maybe):

When Bayern sanctioned Palhinha’s loan move, the expectation was that the arrangement could pave the way for a permanent exit.

Vincent Kompany already has the likes of Aleksandar Pavlovic, Joshua Kimmich and Tom Bischof as midfield options, and while Leon Goretzka is expected to leave in the summer, the Bundesliga champions still appear to have sufficient depth in that department.

The Portuguese midfielder is not considered a natural fit for Kompany’s tactical setup, which is why Bayern would reportedly be open to sanctioning a permanent departure this summer.

Tottenham are believed to be keen on negotiating a fee lower than the original £25m purchase option, but unless Palhinha makes his intentions clear, the situation is unlikely to move forward quickly.

From Tottenham’s perspective, they are already dealing with enough egg on their face from this season, so unless they know 100% that Palhinha is all-in, we likely will not hear a peep from them.

PSG to take run at Lewy? (ESPN)

If former Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski leaves FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain might be ready to give the Polish Hitman a chance in its squad:

Paris Saint-Germain aren’t looking to sign Atletico Madrid striker Julián Álvarez, which opens up a move for Barcelona as they look to find a replacement for Robert Lewandowski, as reported by Sport. Despite reports elsewhere linking Les Parisiens with the 26-year-old Argentina international, he isn’t currently in Luis Enrique’s plans but Barcelona could face competition from Champions League finalists Arsenal as they aim to complete the signing.

LFC wants Diomande badly (TEAMtalk via ESPN)

Liverpool could really want RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande pretty badly:

Liverpool are determined to sign RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande in the summer, despite his transfer being valued at €100 million.
