Canzi: "We want to finish on a high note"

The Juventus Women's First Team face their final Serie A match of the season tomorrow, Sunday 17 May, in Parma at 18:00 CEST.

The match comes just one week before the Itralian Cup final which awaits the Bianconere next weekend against Roma.

Massimiliano Canzi previewed the action a day ahead of the game.

HOW TO APPROACH THE MATCH AGAINST PARMA

“Our aim for tomorrow is to finish the season on a high note, even though we know our league position can't get any better or worse now. We want to finish this season with our heads held high, putting in the best possible performance. That said, some players who have featured more than others will be rested, whilst at the same time, it’s only fair that some of the girls who have had less playing time so far are rewarded for their hard work over the past few months and will take part in tomorrow’s match.”

QUALIFYING FOR THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WAS THE MINIMUM GOAL

“We achieved our minimum goal in the league, which was to secure qualification for next season’s Champions League. It goes without saying that, as defending champions, we tried to win Serie A Women. We gave it our best shot, but history will show that other teams were better than us and Roma deservedly won the Scudetto. We couldn’t afford to miss out on the Champions League and we managed to secure our place: it wasn’t easy, but we didn’t expect it to be.”

AN ANALYSIS OF OUR LEAGUE PERFORMANCE

“The away win against Napoli was the most significant result of our league campaign and the moment when we did well to secure three points that made all the difference. I’d say that was the most intense moment, not least because losing or drawing that match could have led to major problems, which we managed to avoid. Throughout the season, there have been several matches where we reaped less than we sowed, where we failed to capitalise on the chances we created. At the same time, we’ve had some slumps, and the combination of these two factors meant that, this season, we weren’t competitive enough to challenge for the title.”
