Lamine Yamal remains the centre of major attention for both Barcelona and the Royal Spanish Football Federation as fresh talks have now taken place regarding the teenager’s recovery ahead of the FIFA World Cup.
According to recent reports from SPORT, representatives from Barcelona’s medical department and Spain’s national team staff met at the Joan Gamper Training Centre to closely evaluate the winger’s current physical condition and begin outlining a careful recovery roadmap.
As per the outlet, the meeting involved Claudio Vazquez Colomo, the Federation’s head of medical services, alongside Spain fitness coach Carlos Cruz.
Both held discussions with Barcelona’s medical team, including Dr Ricard Pruna, while the player himself was also present during the conversations.
Everyone is aligned
As such, Barcelona and Spain are said to be fully oriented regarding the player’s recovery process, with both sides determined to avoid unnecessary risks surrounding what is considered a delicate hamstring injury.
The teenager is still training individually in the gym and remains unavailable for full team sessions.

Current expectations suggest he will remain sidelined until shortly before the World Cup begins, although everything will ultimately depend on how his body responds over the coming weeks.
There is already growing belief inside the player’s camp that he may miss the opening two matches of the tournament in order to return fully fit for the knockout stages.
Barcelona and Spain working together
Lamine’s importance for both club and country has made his recovery one of the most carefully managed situations in Spanish football right now.
In that sense, Barcelona are taking an especially conservative approach because hamstring injuries can easily become recurring problems if handled incorrectly.
The positive news for everyone involved is that Lamine himself is approaching the recovery process with maturity and discipline.
For now, both Barcelona and the Spanish federation are expected to remain in constant communication moving forward.
No point in rushing

In modern football, young stars are often pushed too quickly because of pressure, expectations and commercial importance.
That is exactly why Barcelona’s handling of his injury feels significant.
The temptation to accelerate his return before the World Cup would naturally be enormous.
Few players change matches the way Lamine currently can, and Spain know he could become one of their most important weapons at the tournament.
But Barcelona also understand the danger of overloading a teenager whose body is still developing physically.
