Opta Predicts Arsenal Will Beat PSG in Champions League Final

PSG will defend its European champion crown against Arsenal on May 30 in Budapest. The Gunners have never won the competition. What are the predictions of Opta's supercomputer for this Champions League final?

Not a favorite against Chelsea and Bayern Munich according to the calculations of Opta's supercomputer, which is based on several more or less relevant criteria, PSG managed to overcome these two obstacles to reach the Champions League final for the second consecutive year. On May 30 in Budapest, Hungary, Luis Enrique's men will face Arsenal, which returns to a Champions League final after 20 years.

At the top of the Premier League with three matchdays remaining and undefeated this season in the Champions League, the Gunners have never lifted the European Cup, and for every self-respecting observer, they are not the favorites against this 2026 PSG, which seems even stronger than last year's.

However, Opta's supercomputer, which simulated the final 10,000 times, still sees Arsenal as the favorite for the final victory, as it has for months, with a 55.77% chance of winning on May 30, compared to 44.23% for PSG. Nothing too serious since PSG has been at the top of this Opta prediction ranking since the start of the season, which did not prevent it from qualifying for the final, in style.

Moreover, if PSG does not have the favor of Opta's predictions, the bookies see the Parisian club as the favorite against the Londoners, with odds between 1.65 and 2.15 for PSG, compared to odds between 2.25 and 3.20 for Arsenal. Between now and May 30, the two teams will play three league matches, and these odds will likely change.

Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta is also confident. "We know their quality, that's all. But obviously, we also have a lot of confidence and, when that moment arrives, we will rise to the occasion," he said, via PSG Xtra.
