NBA Makes Victor Wembanyama Decision After Game 4 Ejection

NBA Makes Victor Wembanyama Decision After Game 4 Ejection

The San Antonio Spurs and Minnesota Timberwolves are now tied up at 2-2 after Minnesota's 114-109 win in Game 4 on Mother's Day.

Anthony Edwards led all scorers with 36 points as the Timberwolves overcame a fourth-quarter deficit to get the win at home.

However, the Spurs took a big blow as superstar Victor Wembanyama was ejected after playing just 12 minutes.

Wembanyama hit Naz Reid in the head with an elbow, and after review, the officials gave the Spurs star a Flagrant 2, which led to an automatic ejection.

Questions swirled about whether or not the NBA would suspend Wembanyama for any more games, but the final word came on Monday morning.

"There will be no further discipline for Spurs star Victor Wembanyama after he was ejected for elbowing Naz Reid in Minnesota on Sunday night, sources tell ESPN. No suspension, no fine. Wembanyama will play in Game 5 against the Timberwolves on Tuesday night in San Antonio," according to Shams Charania of ESPN.

Here was the play from Game 4.

Wembanyama had just four points in 12 minutes before the ejection, and the Spurs did not look the same without their best player.

Fortunately, Wembanyama will not miss any games due to the incident.

The worst-case scenario for San Antonio would've been Wembayama being suspended for Game 5, so that is good news given the update from the league.

De'Aaron Fox and Dylan Harper each scored 24 points in the Game 4 loss, with Stephon Castle adding 20, but Wembanyama was greatly missed in every aspect of the game.

The Spurs lost Game 1 by two points before winning the next two games, and now Game 5 will be played in San Antonio on Tuesday before Game 6 in Minnesota on Friday.

The past two games have been a massive showing from Edwards, who had 32 in Game 3 and 36 in Game 4, so the Spurs need to find a way to stop the Timberwolves superstar.
