Milan consider revolution amid Furlani, Ibrahimovic and Galliani power struggle

It’s reported Milan could go in three different directions, focusing power on Giorgio Furlani, on Zlatan Ibrahimovic, or even on Adriano Galliani, but in all cases Igli Tare is out.

Sky Sport Italia outlined the current chaos going on behind the scenes and the power struggles that are tearing the club apart.

Individual tussles erupted between various figures, including special advisor Ibrahimovic and coach Max Allegri, between CEO Furlani and director of sport Tare.

Something has shifted and that is because RedBird chief Gerry Cardinale refinanced the vendor loan he had received from Elliott Management to purchase the club.

That means he no longer has to give so much credence to the Elliott side of the board, which is run by Furlani.

Notably, in all three potential scenarios, director of sport Tare would be pushed out after less than a year in the job.

Scenario A has Furlani consolidating his power, allowing him to dismiss Allegri and bring in Bologna coach Vincenzo Italiano, along with current Atalanta director Tony D’Amico.

Scenario B has Ibrahimovic taking a stronger role in running the club along with Geoffrey Moncada.

Zlatan too would do away with Allegri, and hope to poach Fiorentina director of sport Fabio Paratici, although that part would be rather difficult.

Scenario C is the most intriguing, which would see Cardinale sweep the board clean and replace Furlani with the return of Silvio Berlusconi’s right hand man Galliani.

The 81-year-old was the man behind the Rossoneri’s success from 1986 to 2017, then followed Berlusconi in his new project at Monza from 2018 to 2025.

That means keeping Allegri, but a new director of sport could be Giovanni Rossi, formerly of Sassuolo.
