Lionel Messi was quick to celebrate on Sunday night as Barcelona beat Real Madrid 2-0 in La Liga to successfully defend their title.
Marcus Rashford got the party started with a beautiful free-kick before Ferran Torres smashed home another superb goal in a 2-0 win for Hansi Flick’s side.
Barcelona then held firm to take all three points, with Messi quick to celebrate on social media after the final whistle.
Barcelona will now celebrate winning yet another title, with Frenkie de Jong admitting it’s time for the players to enjoy themselves.
“This title is even more special because we won it at home against Real Madrid. Now it’s time to enjoy it with the fans,” he said.
“Flick is very important. He has very clear ideas, but within that there is a lot of freedom for the players. That’s how we can demonstrate the quality we have.”
“Every title should be celebrated in style. Especially a league title, which is a year-round competition. We have clearly been the best in Spain. Of course, we want to win the Champions League; that’s the goal. Next year we’ll have another opportunity.”
