
Race fans have been getting excited over the new Grand Prix of Washington D.C. The inaugural event on the streets of the nation's capitol, known as the Freedom 250, will be a celebration of the United States' 250th anniversary as an independent nation.
IndyCar has come up with a way for fans to get free tickets to the race. Fans can apply to put their name in the lottery. Those who are selected as winners will get up to our general admission tickets to the race. The tickets will be for one of the two fan zones, either the Stars or the Stripes zone. Unfortunately, no paddock or pit lane access.
Adam Stern of Sports Business Journal shared the information on social media. While it isn't a pit pass, any chance to get into an IndyCar race for free should be taken. This might be the hottest ticket on the schedule outside of the Indianapolis 500.
IndyCar is the focus in the month of May. The Indy 500 is what everyone in the racing world is focused on during this time of the year. It will be great to see another marquee event later in the season to keep fans, causal and diehard, engaged and waiting for the next big thing.
Since moving to Fox in 2025, IndyCar has seen some real momentum. There are plenty of reasons to be excited about the series and what it has coming in the near future. With talented racers and international faces like Alex Palou and Pato O'Ward, the sky is the limit for the series as it continues to gain exposure week to week.
This season, the IndyCar schedule features not just one but two new races. We saw the Arlington Grand Prix, which went better than expected and saw Kyle Kirkwood reach victory circle. There are so many iconic races and scenic destinations on the schedule. Don't forget the Toronto race has moved to Ontario in Downtown Markham. So many new and exciting things going on in this series.
