Barcelona manager Hansi Flick was understandably emotional after seeing his team beat Real Madrid 2-0 in El Clasico to retain their La Liga title on Sunday at Camp Nou.
Flick sadly lost his father ahead of the match but took charge of his side and oversaw a fine win thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford and Ferran Torres.
Speaking on television after the final whistle, a clearly emotional Flick admitted it was a memorable moment.
“I’ll never forget this moment. My team is fantastic and I’m delighted. I’m very proud of my players. It’s thrilling to be with the fans, in a Clásico, beating Real Madrid,” he told the media.
“We played very well, we defended very well, and we scored two great goals.”
The win puts Barcelona 14 points ahead of Los Blancos with just three games left to play and hands Flick his fifth title since taking charge of the club.
