After being embarrassed in a 99-66 loss to the Phoenix Mercury in their season opener, the Aces came back with a vengeance, obliterating the Los Angeles Sparks 105-78 on the road. The Aces held just a one-point lead at the half, but a second-half explosion by Chennedy Carter led to the big win. With just six points at the half, Carter got aggressive, going 7-for-9 in the second half, scoring a team-leading 16 points to push her team to victory.
One of the youngest teams in the WNBA, the Sun have five rookies and three players with just one year of WNBA experience. As such, it hasn’t been a surprise that the Sun is struggling out of the gate. After losing by 31 on opening night to the New York Liberty, the Sun played a much better game, losing 89-82 to the Seattle Storm. Aneesah Morrow had a monster game off the bench, scoring 17 points with 16 rebounds, keeping the Sun close until late in the game.
