Dodgers Fan Cave Battle: Show Us What You’ve Got!

Season Two of Fan Cave Battle is here, and Dodgers Nation’s Ava Brand is breaking down the best Dodgers fans have to offer.

We’re giving out prizes all season long on our way to picking the final Fan Cave winner, so keep sending us pictures of your fan caves.

After all, if you can’t watch a game at Dodger Stadium, your fan cave is the next best place.

Here are some of the best fan caves we received this week.

Meg Sticee, Oak Park

First up, we have Meg from Oak Park, who has her own “Gabriel Stadium.”

“How about that sign? A hand-crafted wood Dodger plaque is certainly a strong start. Meg says her 10-year-old son is the biggest Dodgers fan, and so far, I believe her! He’s saved all his money and worked hard to build up this collection, which rivals others that people have spent building up longer than Gabriel’s been alive,” Ava said.

That collection — more than 50 bobbleheads, mini helmets, bats, a World Series clock — “is already pushing a 10 out of 10,” Ava said.

Other highlights include:

  • The exact same lighting as Dodger Stadium

  • A Mookie Betts cutout made of wood and glass by Sweat Jet Customs in LA

  • A 25-layer StadiumView lighted table

  • Dodgers bedding and baseball pillow

  • Dodgers patio furniture and projector to show the game

“Gabriel, you just set the bar very, very high,” Ava said.

Calvin, Alhambra

Next up, Calvin from Alhambra maximizes every square inch of this shelf from IKEA to showcase all their favorite things.

“What I love about this is the amount of personality,” Ava said. “I mean, Snoopy wearing the Dodgers jersey, the Dodger Dog easily caught my eye, and of course the Yoshi bobblehead too. Probably my favorite bobblehead ever—I’m jealous of that one for sure.”

Other highlights include:

  • More Snoopy merch

  • Back-to-back World Series bobbleheads

  • World Series rings

  • A personal baseball card

  • World Series jerseys

  • Dodgers Labubus

“This is a very cool blend of some of Calvin’s favorite things, and I think really encapsulates how Dodger baseball unites so many different communities to bring us all together,” Ava said.

James Cenderelli, Fontana

Next up is James, but before we dive in, a quick forewarning.

“Now I have to address the elephant in the room: This is a fan cave that is half Dodgers and half Raiders,” Ava said. “So you’re gonna lose some points there from me as someone who likes to see the Rams and Chargers do well. But the Dodgers side of things? Incredible.”

James said he turned his garage into a fan cave when his wife got tired of long nights at the bar.

“I really don’t see any reason to leave with this set up you have going on,” Ava said. “James built up this collection with items purchased at the Santa Fe Springs Swap Meet; it gives it even more of a cool vintage feel. Some gifts and other memorabilia were handed down from his late father—a great way to keep the Dodger family spirit alive.”

Other highlights include:

  • A 1988 World Series frame with the starting lineup and box score of all five games

  • Yama-Mojo LA Times copy

James said he was 6 years old watching that 1988 World Series with his dad on a 19-inch Zenith.

Now, though, he’s got a flat screen in the fan cave, which hopefully provided a slightly better view of Freddie Freeman’s game-winning blasts.

And the LA Times copy was very special for Ava.

“I personally love buying the local newspaper after a championship moment in LA,” Ava said. “I have the exact same one and it’s one of my favorite covers they’ve done.”

The Verdict

Gabriel, Calvin and James are all deserving of the Fan Cave title in their own ways.

So who wins? You’ll have to watch the video to find out.

But before go, don’t forget that this is an ongoing series.

“That was a lot of fun,” Ava said. “I can’t wait to keep seeing everyone’s unique collections throughout this year and adding to it with more giveaways.

“Thanks for watching, see ya next time!”
