A hot topic at Roma concerns the renewal of players whose contracts are expiring.
Zeki Celik is just one of many who could leave at the end of their contracts in June, but Gian Piero Gasperini has reportedly asked for everyone’s renewal to ensure a solid base to strengthen.
In fact, the coach has emphasized in virtually every press conference that his squad is strong and simply needs some tweaks.
And there appears to be some news emerging regarding the negotiations for the number 19’s renewal.
Gasperini appreciates Celik’s versatility and professionalism, and as the weeks pass, a renewal becomes a concrete possibility.
The player’s entourage initially set high expectations, asking the Roman club for as much as €4 million.
Now, however, the parties may be reaching a compromise.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, a raise is expected compared to the €2.5 million the 1997-born player currently earns, but the figure is expected to be just over €3 million.
The player’s contract still benefits from the growth decree, so the Roman club is still saving some money. Juventus remains vigilant, ready to pull off a low-cost signing for Luciano Spalletti.
