With the final matchday of the 2025/26 Bundesliga season in the books, Bulinews Editor-in-Chief Rune Gjerulff has named his Team of the Week, set up in a 4-4-2 formation.

Goalkeeper:

Daniel Batz, Mainz

Signed off from Mainz in style ahead of his summer departure, producing five saves to preserve a clean sheet in his final appearance for Die Nullfünfer.

Defenders:

Nicolas Capaldo, Hamburger SV

Was heavily involved down the right flank, making three key passes and providing an assist, while also racking 0.68 xG. He complemented his attacking contribution with a solid defensive display.

Kevin Diks, Gladbach

Delivered a commanding performance at centre-back, scoring his fifth goal of the season, completing 93 percent of his passes and winning four of his five duels.

Matthias Ginter, Freiburg

Posed a big attacking threat, hitting the woodwork before Jan-Niklas Beste’s opener before getting on the scoresheet himself later on. He was also rock solid defensively throughout.

Tom Bischof, FC Bayern

Capped an excellent all-round display with a superb goal, while also dominating physically by winning eight of his nine duels.

Midfielders:

Andras Schäfer, Union Berlin

An engine in midfield, Schäfer both scored and assisted in Union's victory while also impressing in possession, completing 94 percent of his passes.

Joshua Kimmich, FC Bayern

Dictated the tempo in Bayern’s midfield, completing 92 percent of his 111 passes and registering two assists in an influential display.

Christian Eriksen, Wolfsburg

Despite missing a penalty, Eriksen still played a pivotal role in Wolfsburg’s crucial 3-1 win over St. Pauli in the relegation battle and was involved in all three of his side's goals.

Nadiem Amiri, Mainz

Ended the season on a high note by scoring his 12th league goal of the campaign. He also created two chances and won all six of his duels in an excellent all-round performance.

Strikers:

Andrej Ilic, Union Berlin

Ruthless in front of goal, Ilic scored twice in Union Berlin’s emphatic 4-0 demolition of Augsburg.

Harry Kane, FC Bayern

Finished the season in style, netting a hat-trick to take his 2025/26 Bundesliga tally to 36 goals in just 31 appearances.
