It's only May 11th, but seeing a College Football Playoff bracket is enough to get anyone fired up for the season.
Especially now, in the midst of all of the Playoff expansion talks and all of the other negative discussions surrounding the game, it's nice to imagine an early December Saturday with all of these games on the slate.
This prediction came right after every team wrapped up their Spring Ball sessions and turned their attention to the summer program. Teams are almost all set, and the fall camp is right around the corner.
With this as the baseline, McMurphy settled with this as his top 12 teams:
Miami Hurricanes
Ohio State Buckeyes
Georgia Bulldogs
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Oregon Ducks
Texas Longhorns
Indiana Hoosiers
Texas A&M Aggies
Texas Tech Red Raiders
Oklahoma Sooners
Penn State Nittany Lions
North Dakota State Bison
A couple of notes about these top-12 rankings. First, it was created before the news of Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby being caught for gambling. It is very likely that he is going to never play college football again, so that will change things.

The other note is that the North Dakota State Bison find their way into the dance after bumping up to the FBS level this year. That would be a feat in itself, but it would wedge them into a playoff with some really good teams.
In this scenario, the Buckeyes would catch the winner between the Indiana Hoosiers and the Oklahoma Sooners. If this were ultimately the case, Ohio State would potentially be staring down an early-season rematch with the Hoosiers.
The Ohio State side of the bracket features some heavy hitters. Notre Dame, Penn State, Indiana, Oklahoma, and Texas all would be competing for that one spot in the National Championship.
If this is the way that it shakes out, the Buckeyes would certainly have to earn it to raise the banner this year.
In this prediction, some notable teams that were left out were Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss, Michigan, and USC to just name a few.
