“With Kathleen Krüger, HSV is gaining a distinguished professional who has worked at the highest international level at FC Bayern Munich for many years. Over the course of 17 years, she has gained experience in the sometimes emotionally charged environment of a top-tier club, helped shape processes, and demonstrated exceptional organizational and leadership skills. She combines sporting expertise, strategic thinking, and strong communication skills and will assume overall responsibility for HSV’s sporting operations going forward. Together with Executive Board member Eric Huwer, she will play a decisive role in shaping the club’s strategic development.

“We deliberately took the time and space needed to fill the executive board position in the best possible way, in line with HSV’s goals and values. “I am truly honored by this vote of confidence. It is a genuine privilege to have the opportunity to play a decisive role in shaping the future of Hamburger SV, one of the biggest names in German soccer, on the sporting level. I have followed the club’s positive development over the past few years with great interest and deep appreciation for its recent achievements. I am all the more excited to continue on this path together with Eric Huwer, all the decision-makers, staff, and the teams in men’s and women’s soccer as well as in youth development, and to actively help shape the club’s future.”

Krüger played 33 Bundesliga matches for the Bayern Munich Frauen from 2003 through 2009) before eventually moving into a team management role with the club in 2012.
