Konrad Laimer has become a sort of silent hero at Bayern Munich, filling in at multiple positions and generally getting the job done. He now wants a raise as part of his new contract, but the club is not entirely on board. Honorary president Uli Hoeneß talked about Laimer’s salary demands before the second leg against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, with the Austrian apparently bothered by said comments:
Konrad Laimer was irritated by Uli Hoeneß’ comments on DAZN the day before the PSG game, where the honorary president made it clear that there were limits to Laimer’s salary, and that he was not Maradona or Harry Kane. The statements didn’t sit well with the Austrian. Negotiations between Bayern and Laimer are currently stalled, with the club unwilling to meet his demands. A quick agreement is not in sight.

Despite the bit that says the two parties are at a standstill, another report indicates that they are close to getting a deal done:
Konrad Laimer met with Bayern again to discuss a contract extension. Both sides have moved closer to an agreement. He is making concessions to Bayern after the club took a hard line. Laimer is very attached to FC Bayern and to Munich.
Unless Bayern can find established players, who can play multiple positions in the back line, Laimer cannot be let go under any circumstances.
