Ben White has been ruled out of Arsenal's Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain and is a doubt for the World Cup, The Sporting News understands.

The defender sustained a knee injury in Sunday's Premier League win at West Ham after he was forced off inside the opening half-hour at the London Stadium.

White had come off worse in a challenge with Crysencio Summerville and required lengthy treatment before being substituted.

The England international was later spotted leaving the ground with his right knee in a brace and his injury is expected to keep him sidelined for several weeks.

Arsenal face PSG in Budapest on 30 May and White will play no part in the final, while he is also a major doubt for England's World Cup campaign this summer.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta now faces a significant problem at right-back with Jurrien Timber also not featuring since the 2-0 win over Everton on 14 March.

Timber is struggling with a long-term groin issue and Arteta admitted on Friday that the situation had been the hardest he has had to manage this season.

Cristhian Mosquera is the leading candidate to start against PSG although the summer signing from Valencia has predominantly played as a central defender for Arsenal.

Declan Rice provided a temporary right back solution at West Ham but returned to his usual role once Mosquera was introduced.

There is further concern over Riccardo Calafiori although his injury is less serious than White's.

Joshua Nichols is the only other recognised full-back in the senior squad and the 19-year-old has made just one first-team appearance.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have the chance to win the Premier League title if they win their final two league games of the season against Burnley and Crystal Palace respectively.

Arteta will hope no further injuries emerge in Arsenal's final league games of the season as they look to end their 20 year wait to win the league title.
