PGA Championship leaderboard: Alex Smalley leads a loaded leaderboard at Aronimink entering Sunday

We’re three days into the second major championship of the season, and the tournament is still very much wide open.

Alex Smalley surged ahead late on Saturday to take a two-shot lead over the field entering the final day of the PGA Championship. He got to 6-under on the week, which is the lowest anyone has reached so far at Aronimink at any point.

But a massive group is right behind him. There are five golfers sitting at 4-under, including Jon Rahm and Aaron “Two Gloves” Rai. Rory McIlroy made a bit of a run on Saturday in the early wave, too. After starting the day at 1-over, he posted a 4-under 66 in the third round to get within a shot of the leaders at the time. He leads the group at 3-under with Patrick Reed, Xander Schauffele and Maverick McNealy.

While Smalley is in the lead, the major is still anybody’s to grab come Sunday afternoon.

We’ll see who survives and can make a play for the Wanamaker Trophy. For now, here’s a look at the top of the leaderboard entering the final round.
