Clint Bowyer Reacts to Qualifying Effort in NASCAR Return at Dover

How about Clint Bowyer back in the NASCAR Truck Series? This is the first NASCAR start for Bowyer since 2024 when he raced in the Truck Series at Nashville. Bowyer only has one other Truck Series start at Dover and it was a P34 DNF back in 2007 when he was racing for Kevin Harvick, Inc.

Following his P22 qualifying result, Clint Bowyer talked about his experience and his Kaulig Ram 1500. He will have to make adjustments, but there is plenty of time in the race to move up and make passes.

"Well, just more laps, right? I knew qualifying – have you ever seen me qualify? Qualifying's always my problematic area. Just still kind of tight with the front end. You can't really hold it wide open like some of those guys because it starts to push through the front tires so we've been freeing up, then you gotta be careful of getting the rear end out from underneath of it. But at the end of the day we are having fun.

"There's a bunch of Rams out there and we're all together so we'll probably be racing each other all day. I think, honestly, you know I think this track's rubbering up quite a bit. I think trucks will fall off and if I can keep my balance underneath me, I think we can pick up a few of them."

Clint Bowyer has the benefit of four teammates this weekend. Kaulig Racing has Justin Haley, Corey LaJoie, Mini Tyrrell, and Brenden Queen racing this season full-time. Bowyer has a lot of experience, but not recent experience. Maybe the young guns can help him out a bit.

Of course, Bowyer has double duty, so to speak. He had to get out of his firesuit and into his regular suit very quickly. After all, he has 90 minutes of Cup Series practice to call and deliver to the fans at home. It never stops for Bowyer and the Fox booth.
