Geno Auriemma, Dawn Staley to meet again after March Madness spat

A March Madness storyline could find its way into the fall thanks to some intriguing scheduling.

USA TODAY Sports reports that defending women's NCAA champion South Carolina will have a Final Four rematch against none other than UConn. The highly anticipated contest will take place on Nov. 24 at Mohegan Sun Arena, which serves as a virtual home game for the Huskies in Connecticut.

Of course, the backdrop of this game will feature the two head coaches. Geno Auriemma and Dawn Staley got into a heated shouting match at the end of South Carolina's 62-48 victory over UConn during their 2026 Final Four tilt.

Auriemma has since apologized for his behavior that evening, but all eyes will be on the pair before the game starts and, perhaps more importantly, after it ends, regardless of the result.
