The Portland Thorns have announced today that the club and Matildas’ goalkeeper Mackenzie Arnold have reached an agreement on a one-year extension option in her contract. Therefore, she’ll stay in the club through 2027.
“I’m excited to be extending my contract in Portland because of the incredible people, the momentum we’ve built together, and the opportunity to keep growing both professionally and personally in a place that’s starting to feel like my second home,” Arnold said.
“Mackenzie has been a part of our success in building a championship-caliber team,” President and General Manager of Soccer Operations Jeff Agoos said.
The Australian arrived in Portland in 2024 and, match after match, she proved why the Thorns had signed her. In this 2026 season, she has registered 22 saves and three clean sheets, stats that have helped her team reach the top of the table.
