
The NTT IndyCar Series competed at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course and it was a chaotic event. A multi-car accident on the first lap took multiple drivers and put them in the back with damage. Then, a timely caution put Alex Palou and Kyle Kirkwood on the wrong side of the strategy. At the end of the day, a McLaren driver stole the show.
Christian Lundgaard and the No. 7 team for McLaren won the Sonsio Grand Prix at the Indianapolis Road Course, earning their first victory of the 2026 IndyCar season. Lundgaard passed David Malukas with around 20 laps to go and pulled away, securing his first victory with McLaren.
The driver of the No. 7 car showed excellent speed at the Indianapolis Road Course, which was the track where he broke out with at Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing. Lundgaard has been very fast since joining McLaren, but it finally all came together at the Indianapolis Road Course.
