Lamine Yamal surpasses Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcus Rashford wins La Liga before Kylian Mbappe and the best Clasico stats

Barcelona made history on Sunday night as they won El Clasico 2-0 and sealed the league title along the way. It’s the first time the Catalans have won La Liga in the famous fixture.

That’s not the only interesting stat that’s emerged from the game. The win means Lamine Yamal now has three La Liga titles to his name, one more than a certain Cristiano Ronaldo. And yes, he is still only 18 years of age.

Marcus Rashford opened the scoring with a brilliant free-kick before Ferran Torres sealed the win. The victory is a first ever league title for the Manchester United loanee.

He’s also managed to finish top of the pile in Spain before a certain Kylian Mbappe.

Another loanee, Joao Cancelo, has also written his name into the history books after El Clasico. The Portugal international has become the first player this century to win four of Europe’s top five leagues.

Cancelo had already won the Premier League, Serie A and the Bundesliga (as well as Portugal’s Primeira Liga) and can now add La Liga to that list.

And manager Hansi Flick also has a Clasico record that might take some beating. According to MisterChip, the Barca boss is the first coach to win six of his first seven Clásicos (even Guardiola only won 5 of the first 7).

Barcelona are also now level on Clasico wins with Real Madrid once again. Both teams have 106 victories to their name and have shared 52 draws.

All in all, it’s not a bad night’s work.
