Takeaways from the TE rankings

  • One tight end that fantasy managers aren’t talking enough about is Tyler Warren on the Colts. As a rookie, Warren was the TE6 in fppg through Week 10 last season before he dealt with some injuries down the stretch and lost his starting quarterback Daniel Jones to a torn ACL. With Michael Pittman Jr. now wearing a Steelers’ jersey, there’s a clear opportunity for Warren, Alec Pierce and Josh Downs to earn more targets. Most of the discussion has been focused on the receivers, but Warren has the talent to be an elite fantasy tight end if he can carve out more volume. I’ve moved Warren to the fourth at his position, ahead of Tucker Kraft (recovering from injury) and Harold Fannin Jr. (Browns drafted multiple WRs early).

  • The top tight end prospects in this draft class failed to land in ideal situations. Kenyon Sadiq went in Round 1, but joined a surprisingly crowded Jets’ offense that might not be able to support many fantasy assets. Eli Stowers was taken in Round 2, ending up in an Eagles offense where he’ll compete with DeVonta Smith, fellow rookie Makai Lemon and current starting tight end Dallas Goedert. The long-term outlook for both players is still strong, just keep your expectations in check for 2026.

  • If you’re digging deep to try and find a sleeper tight end, I’d recommend giving Chig Okonkwo thorough consideration. He steps in as the replacement for Zach Ertz, who was the TE14 in fppg through the first 13 weeks before suffering a season-ending injury. Meanwhile, Okonkwo has been sneaky-productive over the last few seasons, catching more than 50 passes each of the past three years. We’ve also seen top-12 fantasy stats from him before when he accomplished the feat down the stretch in 2024, including posting top-seven weekly finishes in half of his games from Week 12 on. If there’s a tight end who’s going to come out of nowhere to be a fantasy starter this year, Okonkwo has my vote.
