Takeaways from the QB rankings

There are a ton of good fantasy quarterback options this year, so you don’t have to feel pressured to get one early. However, I find myself drafting a lot of Jayden Daniels shares so far. The 25-year-old is coming off an injury-riddled season where he only played the majority of the snaps in six games and didn’t have any huge fantasy performances. But he’s just one year removed from a rookie campaign that saw him finish as the QB4 overall with six outings above 28 fantasy points, including four of his final five appearances. I’m projecting Daniels to reestablish himself as a top-five fantasy quarterback — with a chance to compete with the top scorers at his position — as long as he can stay healthy.

The expected departure of A.J. Brown via trade was looming large over Jalen Hurts’ fantasy outlook. Fortunately for him, the Eagles did an outstanding job stocking the cupboards during the offseason by drafting first-round wideout Makai Lemon and second-round tight end Eli Stowers, as well as acquiring veterans Dontayvion Wicks and Hollywood Brown. Hurts is my QB6 at the moment, but you could make a strong case for him finishing as a top-three fantasy QB in 2026.

Tyler Shough showcased impressive fantasy potential during the back half of his rookie season and now has even more weapons to work with in the form of first-round receiver Jordyn Tyson and free-agent running back Travis Etienne Jr. From Week 9 on last year, Shough was the QB12 in fantasy points per game — a feat he accomplished with Chris Olave, Juwan Johnson and not much else in terms of playmakers in the passing game. While Shough is currently my QB17 due to the abundance of quality fantasy quarterbacks, he’s absolutely a late-round target with low-end QB1 upside.
