Green replied to it saying, “Y’all have called for my career for less.”

The play happened while Wembanyama was battling through traffic after a rebound. Minnesota had bodies around him, contact was building, and when he tried to clear space, his elbow caught Reid high. After review, officials ruled it a flagrant 2, ending Wembanyama’s night much earlier than anyone expected.

San Antonio never really looked the same after that. Wembanyama had barely settled into the game before being sent off, and the Timberwolves used his absence to stay aggressive and eventually pull out the win. Anthony Edwards took over late, helping Minnesota level the series and turn Game 5 into a major swing game.
For the Spurs, the league’s decision is a major relief. Wembanyama being available changes everything defensively and offensively, especially in a matchup this tight.
The controversy is not going away, but at least for San Antonio, the focus can now shift back to basketball.
