The second leg of the 2026 horse racing American Triple Crown is set to take place this weekend, as the Preakness Stakes will be run on Saturday at Laurel Park in Laurel, Maryland. This year’s race, which always takes place on the third Saturday in May, was moved from the traditional Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore due to renovations.
The Preakness Stakes comes two weeks after the Kentucky Derby was run at historic Churchill Downs, in which Golden Tempo won, along with jockey Jose Ortiz and trainer Cherie DeVaux. Golden Tempo will not have the opportunity to win the first two races in the Triple Crown, but there are plenty of contenders to win the 151st Preakness Stakes.
