Los Angeles FC travel to Missouri on Wednesday night to face St. Louis City SC in an important Western Conference clash at Energizer Park.
LAFC enter the match sitting near the top end of the table with 21 points from 12 matches, while St. Louis have struggled for consistency and are currently near the bottom with just two wins all season.
The two sides come into the game with mixed recent form. LAFC suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat against Houston Dynamo in their last MLS outing after also losing 4-0 away to Toluca in the CONCACAF Champions Cup. Before that, they picked up a draw against San Diego FC and an away win over Minnesota United.
Son Heung-Min is challenged by Diego Barbosa in the second half of CONCACAF Champions Cup 2026 semifinals first leg.
St. Louis City SC, meanwhile, are coming off a 1-0 win against Colorado Rapids, but they had previously lost to Austin FC and San Jose Earthquakes while conceding heavily against Seattle Sounders.
LAFC have also dominated this fixture in recent years. The Black & Gold are unbeaten in seven straight meetings against St. Louis and already beat them 2-0 earlier this season at BMO Stadium.
Is Son Heung-min Playing Tonight Against St. Louis City SC?
Son Heung-min is expected to start for LAFC and there are no reports suggesting that he will miss the match.
The South Korean forward has become one of the key players in Marc Dos Santos’ side since arriving in MLS and is once again set to feature in the attack.
Son has been one of the most productive creators in MLS this season. He currently leads MLS in assists with eight and has already become a central figure in LAFC’s attacking setup.
