The Boston Red Sox are calling up right-handed pitcher Jack Anderson from Triple-A Worcester.
Anderson is on his way to join the team in Minnesota, as reported on X, formerly Twitter, by 7News’ Ari Alexander and shared by MLB Network’s Jon Morosi.
Anderson, 26, gained additional attention for his performance with Great Britain in the World Baseball Classic. According to Morosi, Anderson’s father, Peter, grew up in Greater London and is a former football player for Luton Town F.C. Peter later played for the Tampa Bay Rowdies soccer team. Anderson was born in Tampa.
Originally drafted by the Detroit Tigers in 2021, Anderson developed as a reliever in their system before being selected by Boston in the 2024 Rule 5 draft, as reported by Meredith Perri of MassLive. He split time between starting and relief roles last season.
In 2025, Anderson made four starts and 19 relief appearances for Double-A Portland before adding three starts with Worcester. He has continued to build momentum this spring, going 1-0 with a 3.72 ERA and 1.14 WHIP across two starts while striking out nine in 9.2 innings.
His most recent outing came April 9 against the Columbus Clippers, when he earned the win with six scoreless innings, allowing three hits and one walk while striking out seven.
Boston will need to clear space on its 40-man roster. If Anderson appears in a game, it would mark his MLB debut.
The Red Sox face the Minnesota Twins in game two of a three-game on-the-road series Tuesday night. Boston dropped the first game to Twins Monday 13-6.
