Caitlin Clark, Fever face Paige Bueckers, Wings: How to watch season opener

Saturday’s star-studded WNBA matchup between the Indiana Fever and the Dallas Wings will feature the last four No. 1 overall draft picks.

The Fever, led by Aliyah Boston (2023 No. 1 pick) and Caitlin Clark (2024 No. 1 overall pick), will open the 30th season of the WNBA against the Wings, led by Paige Bueckers (2025 No. 1 pick) and Azzi Fudd (2026 No. 1 pick). Saturday’s season-opening matchup not only pits the last four consecutive No. 1 draft picks against each other, it features the past two Rookie of the Year winners in Clark (2024) and Bueckers (2025).

It’ll mark the second matchup between the squads in a little more than a week after the Wings soundly defeated the Fever 95-80 in the preseason on April 30. Bueckers (20) and Maddy Siegrist (18) combined for 38 points in the win, while Clark had 21 points in the losing effort.

Clark, who was limited to 13 games last season due to injuries, said she’s “really excited” to be back.

“I feel great,” Clark said on Tuesday. “Even the preseason games were really fun for myself too. I treat those like real games… Obviously we have a lot of areas to improve, especially during the Dallas game. You certainly saw that defensively I think has been our focus.”
