With the penultimate matchday of the 2025/26 Bundesliga season in the books, Bulinews Editor-in-Chief Rune Gjerulff has named his Team of the Week, set up in a 4-2-2-2 formation.
Goalkeeper:
Jonas Urbig, FC Bayern
Urbig produced a series of outstanding saves – five in total – to help Bayern secure a hard-fought 1-0 win over Wolfsburg.
Defenders:
Vladimir Coufal, Hoffenheim
A rock on the right side of defence, Coufal was strong in duels, created five key passes, and completed four dribbles in Hoffenheim’s 1-0 win over Werder.
Luka Vuskovic, Hamburger SV
In what was almost certainly his final home appearance for HSV, Vušković once again showcased his class, winning seven duels and getting on the scoresheet. A fitting farewell performance.
Wili Orban, RB Leipzig
The experienced defender stepped up when it mattered most, helping Leipzig secure Champions League qualification. He won five of six duels, scored the winner, and completed 96% of his 146 passes.
Robin Fellhauer, Augsburg
Made a real impact off the bench after an early injury to Dimitrios Giannoulis. Fellhauer was heavily involved going forward, scoring once and later seeing another effort ruled out for offside.
Midfielders:
Jan Schöppner, Heidenheim
Struck an impressive brace to guide Heidenheim to a vital 3-1 win over 1. FC Köln.
Fabian Rieder, Augsburg
A composed and creative presence in midfield, Rieder registered four key passes and also won four duels.
Michael Olise, FC Bayern
Delivered another moment of brilliance, scoring a superb long-range effort to seal Bayern’s victory.
Arijon Ibrahimovic, Heidenheim
Scored a goal, along with three key passes and a completed dribble in Heidenheim’s win.
Strikers:
Michael Gregoritsch, Augsburg
The Austrian striker led the line superbly, scoring twice to inspire Augsburg’s 3-1 win over Mönchengladbach.
Ermedin Demirovic, Stuttgart
A constant threat in Stuttgart’s crucial 3-1 victory over Bayer Leverkusen, Demirović found the net again and also won a penalty.
