Availability is the best ability in sports. No matter what sport an athlete plays, being able to show up consistently on game day is a necessity for long-term success. Aliyah Boston knows that all too well; however, she will be missing her first basketball game in eight seasons.

Ahead of Sunday night's game against the Seattle Storm, Boston was marked as out due to a lower-leg injury that saw her leave Friday's game early. Now, she will be missing her first game in 275 consecutive appearances through college and the WNBA.

Now, Indiana's third-leading scorer will be on the sidelines for the team's game tonight at 6 p.m. ET that will air on Peacock.

Here's why the Fever star will be missing her first game in eight seasons.

Aliyah Boston consecutive games played streak

Boston has suited up for 275 games in a row between her college and WNBA careers, according to The Athletic. That streak has unfortunately come to an end ahead of Indiana's game on Sunday against Seattle.

During Friday's loss to the Washington Mystics, Boston suffered a lower-leg injury and exited in the third quarter. The forward-center finished with nine points and four rebounds through 21 minutes.

Prior to the 2026 WNBA season, Boston previously fell victim to a lower-leg injury in February with Unrivaled, the professional 3-on-3 league that several WNBA players participate in during the offseason. It remains to be seen whether or not Boston's current injury involves a reaggravation or if it differs.

Roughly two hours before tipoff of Indiana's game against the Storm, the team shared that Boston would be out of Sunday's game with a lower leg injury.

Boston picked up the injury during the Fever's narrow 104-102 loss to the Mystics on Friday. Boston has been working back from a lower leg injury she suffered in Unrivaled this past February. The injury forced her to miss the Fever's first two preseason games, and she has been on a minutes restriction to start the season, according to Hawkeyes Wire.

At the moment, it is unclear if tonight's game will be the only one missed for Boston.
