OKC Thunder to face Spurs in 2026 Western Conference Finals

It was always going to come down to these two teams. The Oklahoma City Thunder have finally learned their 2026 Western Conference Finals opponent. They will face the San Antonio Spurs in a highly anticipated matchup between the league's best two teams all year.

The Thunder have been chilling since Monday. They punched their ticket to the final four with a Game 4 win over the Los Angeles Lakers. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 35 points and eight assists to carry his team to the finish line. OKC is off to an 8-0 start in the postseason with six being by double-digit points.

Meanwhile, the Spurs clinched their spot with a 139-109 Game 6 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday. Victor Wembanyama had 19 points and six rebounds. Stephon Castle exploded for 32 points and 11 rebounds. San Antonio was the better team from the jump. It scored 20 consecutive points in the second quarter to put this one away.

Well, I think we all kinda knew in the back of our minds that the Thunder and Spurs would inevitably clash. Now, the NBA world will see the clear-cut two best teams fight it out. Of course, OKC lost four of five regular-season matchups against San Antonio this past year.

The Thunder will host the Spurs for Game 1 on Monday, May 18. The series will follow an every-other-day format.
