Bayer Leverkusen expected to part ways with Kasper Hjulmand

According to a report from Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bayer Leverkusen is expected to part ways with head coach Kasper Hjulmand after the team finishes its season vs. Hamburger SV:

🚨🆕 Internal decision: if nothing extraordinary happens, Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Kasper Hjulmand will part ways after the end of the season. Clear tendency, as exclusively revealed in March.

Hjulmand is highly appreciated and considered a top manager. Leverkusen simply want a fresh start. Talks with potential successors have been ongoing for weeks. @SkySportDE

Hjulmand took over for Erik ten Hag, whose tenure was both short and a complete disaster. In a way, Hjulmand saved Bayer Leverkusen’s season, but Die Werkself has lost two of its last four at a key stage of the season and might not have done enough to convince the Bayer Leverkusen leadership that he should stay on.

If the report is true, Leverkusen will hit the coaching market again this summer in hopes of find a leader to help them make a push at Bayern Munich next season.
