The San Antonio Spurs are now on a collision course with the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Finals. It will be a blockbuster series because it pits the top two teams in the West, while also having a matchup of the biggest stars in the league.

The Minnesota Timberwolves could not reach their third consecutive Western Conference Finals, but it seems this is the start of the postseason rivalry people will get accustomed to seeing for years to come.

Victor Wembanyama has the ultimate respect for the OKC Thunder ahead of the series

As the Spurs' star player, Wembanyama shoulders a lot of expectations. It has been a challenging season, but they have broken out into the second-best team in the league. Of course, the Thunder holds the top spot.

During the regular season and the Play-In Tournament, the Spurs won four of the five games they played against each other. That could be a psychological advantage for San Antonio, knowing they have OKC's number.

Since the Spurs have momentum and are looking like one of the league's most promising teams, some people might take them over the Spurs. Wembanyama is not subscribing to that idea just yet, as he wants to respect his opponents, especially during the preparation period.

"Of course, we're confident, but we need to keep the right confidence level. Right now, I'm not even thinking about it. I'm just thinking about recovering, I'm thinking about getting this press conference over with it," Wembanyama said in his press conference after Game 6.

At this point of the Playoffs, the regular season is a thing of the past. The Spurs might have dominated then, but the Thunder have been a different beast in the postseason. Wembanyama knows that, and they will be preparing for that.
