Julian Hall, 18, becomes youngest player to record hat trick in MLS

Red Bull New York’s 18-year-old forward, Julian Hall, became the youngest player in MLS history to record a hat trick.

Hall’s trio of goals helped RBNY defeat the Columbus Crew, 3-2, at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, New Jersey, on May 13.

Hall (18 years, 50 days) pulled off his hat trick quicker than Ricardo Pepi (18 years, 195 days) in 2021, when Pepi played for FC Dallas.

Who is Julian Hall?

Hall is one of a number of young, up-and-coming talents employed by first-year Red Bull New York coach Michael Bradley, the former U.S. national team star and son of former USMNT coach Bob Bradley, also a former coach with the club. Bradley’s “Baby Bulls” also feature 16-year-old midfielder Adri Mehmeti and 17-year-old defender Matthew Dos Santos. All three started in RBNY’s May 13 win over the Columbus Crew.

Hall made his MLS debut on Sept. 30, 2023, and at 15 years and 190 days became the youngest debutant in team history and second-youngest (Freddy Adu at 14 years, 306 days) in league history. Hall’s debut was the only match he appeared in during the 2023 season, and then saw his playing time increase in 2024 (11 games) and 2025 (26 games). But the forward is having a breakout season in 2025, scoring nine goals in 13 matches played.

Hall — whose full name is Julian Zakrzewski Hall — is eligible to play for either the U.S. or Poland national teams, but has yet to make a senior team appearance for either. However, he has represented the U.S. at both the U15 and U17 levels.
