Dystany Spurlock to make NASCAR history at Dover in 2026

Dystany Spurlock is set to make NASCAR history during the Truck Series race at Dover Motor Speedway on Friday afternoon. Spurlock will become the first Black woman to compete in one of NASCAR’s three national touring series. The 34-year-old driver will pilot the No. 69 truck for MBM Motorsports at Dover.

Spurlock began in motorcycle drag racing, where she established herself as a standout in the 4.60 index class, setting records and taking home class victories. In 2024, she made history as the first woman to win the DME Racing Real Street class in the XDA Motorcycle Drag Racing Series with a 7.32 ET run at 178 mph.

A year later, she debuted in NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle, becoming just the second Black woman to compete in the category. Most recently, Spurlock made her national ARCA Menards Series debut with an excellent 10th-place finish at Kansas Speedway, despite a late-race incident not of her doing.

Spurlock has surpassed all expectations to begin her stock car racing career. Now, she has an opportunity to further her development in the Truck Series on Friday afternoon.
